Executive Agency for Health and Consumer Affairs has published a Call for Proposals under the work plan 2010 of the second Community action programme in the field of health (2008-2013) to be granted by a financial contribution to the operation non-governmental organizations and specialized networks.

The second Health Programme aims to complement, support and add value to the policies of  Member States and contribute to increased solidarity and prosperity in the European Union. The Programme's objectives are:

• To improve citizens' health security.
• To promote health, including the reduction of health inequalities.
• To generate and disseminate health information and knowledge.

The Community may provide financial contributions to the functioning of an NGO or a specialized network that:

• Follow as a primary objective one or several priorities of the annual work plan 2010.
• Are non-profit and independent interests of industrial, commercial and business or otherwise.
• Have members in at least half the Member States.
• Have a balanced geographical coverage.
• Do not have objectives that are directly or indirectly opposed to the policies of the European Union or are associated with a poor image.
• Has provided the Commission with documents attesting to their membership, their internal rules and sources of funding.
• Has provided the Commission with its annual work plan for the financial year and its most recent annual and, if present, the most recent assessment report.

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

• 2,00 Million EUR (Global Budget)

• 12 March 2010 - 15 years ago (Deadline for the presentation of proposals)

Opened to the following bodies or institutes with legal status established in the covered areas:

• Public authorities (all)
• Non-governmental organization
• Universities
• Non profit organisations

Bodies or institutes must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme which are:

• European Union (EU)
• Third countries
• European Free Trade Association (EFTA)
• European Economic Area (EEA)
• Candidate Countries
