Interested parties active in the field of public health and risk assessment are invited to submit an application, through this call for proposals for conferences, in accordance with   the procedures set out in Commission Decision 2009/964/EU stablishing the 2010 Work Plan, in order to implement the priority actions defined in the second Health Programme Programme decision.

The second Health Programme is intended to complement, support and add value to the  policies of the Member States and contribute to increased solidarity and prosperity in the European Union. The Programme's objectives are:

• To improve citizens' health security.
• To promote health, including the reduction of health inequalities.
• To generate and disseminate health information and knowledge.

Financial contributions by the Community may be awarded for organisation of conferences which:

• Pursue as their primary goal one or more priorities of this annual work plan 2010.
• Have European Union-wide dimension, i.e. engage representatives of ten or more countries participating in the EU Health Programme.
• Are organised by a public body or a non-profit-making body established in a country participating in the EU Health Programme.

Two of these conferences will be held under the semestral presidencies of the EU. The Presidency conferences foreseen for 2010 are: an e-health Ministerial Conference 2010 to be held in March 2010 under the Spanish Presidency, and a conference on Health workforce to be held in September 2010 under the Belgian Presidency.

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

• 0,80 Million EUR (Global Budget)

• 12 March 2010 - 15 years ago (Deadline for the presentation of proposals)

• Call for proposals 2010 for financial contribution to specific actions in the form of conferences (Legal base)
• Work Plan for 2010 for the implementation of the second programme of Community action in the field of health (2008-2013), (Work programme)

Opened to the following bodies or institutes with legal status established in the covered areas:

• Public authorities (all)
• Non-governmental organization
• Universities
• Non profit organisations

Bodies or institutes must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme which are:

• European Union (EU)
• Third countries
• European Free Trade Association (EFTA)
• European Economic Area (EEA)
• Candidate Countries
