Call for proposals 2010 - Civil Protection Financial Instrument - Projects on preparedness and prevention CFPI Closed!

Objectives

The European Commission, Directorate-General for Environment, Civil Protection Unit, is launching a call for proposals with the aim of identifying projects on preparedness and prevention which might be eligible for financial support in the framework of the Council decision establishing a Civil Protection Financial Instrument (2007/162/EC). This financial support will take the form of grants  with the following objectives: 

Preparedness projects

  • Improve the effectiveness of emergency response by enhancing the preparedness and awareness of civil protection professionals and volunteers.
  • Support and complement the efforts of the Participating States for the protection of citizens, environment and property in the event of natural and man-made disasters.
  • Facilitate reinforced cooperation between the Participating States in the field of preparedness in civil protection and marine pollution.

Prevention projects

  • Support and complement the efforts of Participating States on prevention, focusing on areas where a common European approach is more effective than separate national approaches.

Actions

Preparedeness projects

  • Projects and small scale exercises aimed at concrete complementary improvements and innovation. Concrete outputs may include, e.g., the joint design, development and implementation of innovative civil protection activities, including procedures, techniques, tools, etc. They may also include the transfer or the adaptation of existing features from other geographical or thematic contexts.

Prevention projects

  • Projects and studies with concrete outputs.

  • Pilot projects aimed at improving techniques and procedures.

European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 3,05 Million EUR (Global Budget)
